Data Sections
Data sections (premium package only) allow information from a database to be printed out in a dynamic fashion into a web page. It is dynamic because any changes to a database immediately show up for people looking at the live site.
Creating a Data Section
You create a data section just like a text section right up until you have to give details about it. At this point you have several settings to configure:
- Title
This is very similar to a text section title and appears at the top of the section.
- Title Field
The title field is bolded and placed at the beginng of each printed record. If another field of the database has a type "Link" then you can make the title field point to that link by selected the link field from the pop-up.
- Database
As might be expected this is the database that is to be printed out.
- Group By
Instead of having one title for the whole section, it is possible to place several titles throughout the section using the "Group By" option. This specifies which field should be used to group the records. If, for example, the "City" field was chosen, all the records with the same city would be grouped together.
- Sort By
The printing order of the records can be controled using this option.
- Rules
Several flexible rule sets are available to filter out which records you want printed and which you don't.
